Funding for School Radio Clubs across Shropshire received

We were delighted to receive a welcome financial boost just before Christmas from the Wynn Foundation and the Millichope Foundation.

Our School Radio Club project desperately needs funding to get into more schools, to help more children to use radio as a platform to enhance their research and oracy skills.

We submitted applications to both Foundations, and we are delighted to be awarded £500 from the Wynn Foundation and £1500 from the Millichope Foundation.

The funds are used to expand our School Radio club pilot into a few further School’s in the county.

The School Radio Club pilot’s are proving incredibly insightful to learn how we can improve our training and service to each school, to work with them, and when producing the final content we air in our Saturday show ‘Your Voice Matters’.

The School Radio Club project is backed by Shropshire Council, Shropshire Music Services and Shropshire Virtual Schools where we wish to deliver the project into 10 designated schools throughout Shropshire, where we hopefully receive a positive from a larger funding bid in early Spring to action.
