INTune Radio Founding Partners AStar Homecare

An award-winning Shropshire business has joined the county’s newest community radio station as a Foundation Partner.

AStar Homecare has teamed up with INTune Radio in an exciting new deal to raise its profile and support INTune’s work in providing a new community-based station for the whole of Shropshire.

As a Foundation partner, AStar Homecare benefits from huge exposure for its business – broadcast, social, digital, and hard copy – plus some real exclusivity and the chance to advertise to an audience which is growing by the day.

AStar Homecare, which is based just outside Whitchurch, puts people before profit and offers a friendly alternative by providing support care at home for as little or as long as you or a loved one needs.

Husband and wife team Adam and Gill Holden ensure their home care service is a positive experience by providing the very best, highly trained team of carers and have been rated outstanding by the Care Quality Commission.

INTune founder Wayne Flynn said: “We’re delighted to support the wonderful team at AStar Homecare. They are big supporters of INTune Radio and share our vision of working together to help all corners of the Shropshire community.

“It’s great to have them on board as a Foundation Partner and showcase the great benefits of the package in raising their profile and spreading the word about what a great business they are.”

Adam and Gill said: “We didn’t hesitate at the chance of getting involved with INTune Radio. We love the station’s community ethos and the way they work to raise the profiles of charities, community groups, good causes and businesses.

“Like us, they realise that it is people who make Shropshire such a wonderful place to live and do business, and by telling stories from every corner of the county INTune is helping make our community an even better place to be.”

AStar is now actively looking for franchisees in the Market Drayton area – so if you or anybody you know can help just get in touch with them. And Adam and Gill are also on the lookout for new care staff – so if you are trained, can pass their Mum Test (find out just what they mean on their website) and want to play your part in an award-winning care business, then just drop them a line.

You can find out all about this fabulous company at https://astarhomecare.co.uk and Wayne has been chatting to them about their vision for a truly caring company for INTune and also catch their advert we’re airing.

INTune Radio space odyssey launch hailed an out-of-this-world success

A special event to launch a spectacular Charity Space Odyssey video staged by Shropshire’s new community radio station has been hailed a huge success.

Around 200 people watched the premiere of the INTune radio space flight video at St Mary’s church in Shrewsbury, which saw 33 county charities teaming up with the station on a three-hour balloon trip to the edge of space.

INTune founder Wayne Flynn said the evening had been an out-of-this-world experience and helped the station recruit new volunteers, raise money for the Lingen Davies cancer charity and welcome new advertisers to the station.

Shropshire’s High Sheriff Selina Graham and Lingen Davies head of fundraising Helen Knight joined business leaders, charity representatives and community groups at the event, which featured a stunning performance from the Shrewsbury Rock Choir as well as the launch of the video.

“The night was everything we had hoped for – and more,” said Wayne.

“As well as celebrating the amazing work of our county’s charity sector, people enjoyed great food and drink, found out a bit more about INTune and helped raise some much-needed funds for Lingen Davies.

“INTune is run entirely by volunteers, and we were overjoyed to sign up some new recruits and make new advertising contacts and to have so many people pledge their support to the station.

“And it was great to hear the High Sheriff thank us for our work and talk about the importance of volunteering and the community.”

Wayne announced plans for INTune to launch a countywide community campaign in 2023 – with volunteers visiting all four corners of the county to talk to residents and gather community stories.

“A central part of INTune is telling some of the great, untold stories of the fantastic community and charity work going on all over Shropshire, and this will be a key theme as we continue to grow in 2023.

“We also have exciting plans – which are just starting to take shape – to set up our own studio in Shrewsbury which will open up numerous new opportunities for us. It looks as if 2023 will be the year we truly take off and reach for the stars, just like our charity space odyssey.

“I want to thank all our volunteers and everyone who has helped us for their support – and urge anyone with an interest in great local radio to get in touch to see how they can join in and help shape our future.

“And anyone who wants to know more can follow us on LinkedIn and Facebook, as well as listening to the station each and every day.”

Shrewsbury-based chartered civil and structural design engineers Thomas Consulting was one of the sponsors of the space odyssey and said it was delighted with the success of the event.

Diane Brown, from Thomas Consulting, brought along radio mascot DJ Schnauzer and said: “It was wonderful to see so much positivity for such a fantastic community initiative. The whole of Shropshire will benefit from everything INTune is doing and we are delighted to be supporting the station.”

The space launch took place earlier this year and saw the balloon soar 100,000ft above the Earth to capture video from the edge of space. The names of the 33 charity partners were taken on the flight to help raise their profile and showcase the work they do.

INTune is the new community radio station covering the whole of Shropshire and Telford and Wrekin with a mission to support local business, charities, and communities. It can be listened to through apps on both Apple and Android devices and also online at intune-radio.co.uk

Out of this world – new community radio station INTune to premiere spectacular charity space odyssey at Shrewsbury event

Shropshire’s new community radio station is staging an out-of-this-world night-to-remember to launch a spectacular Charity Space Odyssey video.

INTune Radio teamed up with 33 county charities on an amazing three-hour balloon flight into space to launch the new station and promote the fantastic work of the charity sector.

Now it is staging a premiere of the stunning video of the space flight at a special event at St Mary’s Church in Shrewsbury on December 1.

INTune founder Wayne Flynn said the invite-only event would bring together up to 300 leading business and community leaders alongside INTune and charity volunteers, for a night of celebration.

The free event would also help raise funds for the Lingen Davies cancer charity and the station would also make a donation to the St Mary’s Stained Glass Repair Appeal.

Wayne said: “Our space launch took place earlier this year and saw our balloon soar 100,000ft above the Earth to capture some simply incredible video from the edge of space. We took 33 charity partners with us on the voyage to help raise their profile and showcase the work they do.

“The St Mary’s event will see the official premiere of our Charity Space Odyssey video as well as giving guests the chance to meet some of the team behind INTune, find out just what we do and how we can help their business or charity reach a brand-new audience.

“We’ll have live music from the Shrewsbury Rock Choir, street food and drink, a guest appearance by INTune radio mascot DJ Schnauzer and the chance to meet and network with fellow guests.

“It’s going to be a fantastic night to remember and is a real milestone for INTune as we continue to grow and serve every area of this fabulous county.”

Wayne said INTune – which is staffed by volunteers – was now broadcasting a full daily schedule and increasing its audience every month.

“INTune is the new commercial radio station covering the whole of Shropshire and Telford and Wrekin with a mission to support local business, charities, and communities.

“We work with local charities and communities to help raise their profile, along with local businesses who have a product, service or event to sell. Radio advertising is now within reach for many businesses who can also benefit from our unique integrated digital marketing approach.”
INTune worked with specialist brand and marketing company Sent into Space to organise the flight earlier in the Autumn.

INTune is on online station which can be listened to through apps on both Apple and Android devices and also online at intune-radio.co.uk

Out of this world – INTune offers charities chance to reach for the stars at space spectacular

Shropshire’s new community radio station is offering charities an out-of-this-world chance to reach out to a new audience – by joining it in space for free.

INTune Radio is planning a spectacular Charity Space Odyssey this Spring which it says will give good causes and businesses across the county the chance to give their profiles a stellar boost.

Appropriately, the event – a three hour balloon flight beyond the atmosphere to 100,000ft above the Earth – will be streamed on May 4th, known as Star Wars day because of the movie franchise’s iconic May the Force Be With You slogan.

INTune founding director Wayne Flynn said the station wanted as many charities as possible to join it for free on the trip into space to help raise their profiles and celebrate their brilliant work.

He said businesses were also being offered a range of unique sponsorship and advertising opportunities linked to the flight and he was also keen to hear from any company which could help stage a special event on May 4 to mark the day.

“INTune is the new commercial radio station covering the whole of Shropshire and Telford and Wrekin with a mission to support local business, charities and communities.

“As part of that mission we are staging a Charity Space Odyssey on May 4 which will see the first broadcast of the video from our hot air balloon’s trip into space, which will have taken place a few days earlier.

“We want as many charities as possible to join us to help raise awareness of their work. You’ll join a host of other charities highlighted in a special slide show presentation with your slide including your charity logo, contact point and description screened simultaneously next to our journey as we venture into space.

“We also want to stage a big, fun event on May 4 itself to mark the broadcast and are keen to hear from any company which can help out.”

Wayne said businesses were also being offered the chance to sponsor the event.

“You and our charity partners will ascend above the Earth’s surface, arriving in space for around six minutes before descending. The whole event will be captured by on-board 360° video cameras and viewed later through our website and social media.”

Those taking part would benefit from their brands being filmed in space on the balloon – as well as promotional opportunities on INTune itself and its website and social media channels, Wayne said.

“This is a truly unique and exclusive opportunity for any business or charity within the Shropshire and Telford and Wrekin area that wants to be part of our breath-taking journey to celebrate the amazing work all our local charities provide.

“Each of these balloon trips to space is typically watched by around 100,000 people so it’s an unmissable opportunity for both businesses and charities.”

INTune was working with specialist brand and marketing company Sent into Space to organise the flight, which would ‘be the most memorable event your organisation will ever be involved with’, Wayne added.

Charities can get involved by simply filling in the form on the INTune website here: https://intune-radio.co.uk/charity-space-odyssey. Applications should be submitted by March 31.

Businesses can find out more about sponsorship opportunities here ITR-CSO-Brochure.pdf (intune-radio.co.uk) or by contacting Wayne at info@intune-radio.co.uk, again before March 31
